I'm excited to announce that A Dark Souvenir has been accepted into its first film festival, the Maryland International Film Festival!!!  Woohooooo!  This is such a crazy, stressful, demoralizing process of entering film festivals.  We did this once already with our feature documentary, Broken On All Sides.  Although that film went on to acclaim across the country, it was rough getting into any big festivals.  We did a mini small festival tour of some of the places we got into, and we are excited to do the same for this.  So, at least this time around I'm understanding that the process is so goddam subjective, you never know who is on the other end of your film and what the fuck they're thinking when they accept or reject it.  [Our tally so far: 1 acceptance, 2 rejections.]

See you in Hagerstown MD!

Incidentally, if anyone lives in or near Hagerstown and would like to help me promote the movie prior to the festival screening, please contact me!
